Hi there, I’m Emily
I have over 7 years of experience working with different doctors across the US and abroad, more than 5 years as a trained DONA International Birth Doula, and 3 years as a licensed Registered Dietitian in New York, focusing on prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum nutrition. I currently serve the areas of Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and parts of Long Island.
Previously a doula in the states of Chicago and Alabama, I relocated to New York in 2021 to marry my beloved Luke. Our family is growing as we recently welcomed our first little one, Teddy, in December of 2023.
Childbirth is a profoundly three-dimensional experience that involves not just the physical body and the emotional mind, but also the deeply spiritual nature of each woman. I firmly believe in the biblical truth that all children are indeed a precious gift from God. Furthermore, in John 6:21, it is articulated that "A woman giving birth experiences intense labor pains in delivering her baby, yet after the child is born, she quickly forgets what she went through because of the overwhelming joy of knowing that a new baby has been born into the world." Physical and mental pain may seem to stand in stark contrast to joy, yet in this beautiful verse, joy completely overwhelms any sense of lingering pain to such an extent that it leads to forgetfulness. I truly desire to support and encourage you throughout your unique pregnancy and labor process, helping you transition into an experience filled with joy unspeakable as you deliver your precious newborn!
THERE'S NO "RIGHT WAY"
TO GIVE BIRTH
I am passionate about supporting each mother in her uniqueness and believe that every birth story is beautiful. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families through a wide range of experiences—including infertility, zero-intervention, unmedicated births in hospitals and birthing centers, birthing center inductions, home births, medicated births, inductions that resulted in unmedicated vaginal deliveries, planned and unplanned c-sections (including gentle c-sections), and VBACs. This breadth of experience has given me a deep well of knowledge, allowing me to provide informed, compassionate, and flexible support tailored to each mother’s needs and desires.
